What's New in my World
6/17 Ugh! The summer has already been soooo hectic! I really just haven't had time to keep up here!

Skiffy's been coming home from work, getting a quick shower & then rushing off to the CWS games every evening & not getting home until late, so I haven't seen much of him lately. He enjoys taking the kids & grandkids tho, & they really enjoy spending the time with him too.

L & L have registered at Sun Dawgs down at the park. Logan's so excited becuz this is her first year! Becuz of Skiffy's schedule, we're up at the river for most of the week, so they aren't able to spend a lot of time there this year, but at least when we're home they can go down there & I don't have to listen to the constant droning of Disney Channel or Nickelodian in the background allllll day long, LoL!

We're heading up to the river here shortly & will be back home friday afternoon or eve. We got the wave runner & the boat running now, so hopefully the river will have receded enough that we can get them out. We've also got the pool filled & Skiffy bought a solar heating system, so hopefully the water will be warm enough that I can get in, the kids don't care how cold it is!

5/7 It's been a hectic week, & once again I'm feeling exhausted. Yeah, I know, that seems to happen to me a lot.

Mom's been in town since last Friday, tho I didn't see her until Sunday when Gail was very gracious & hosted a get together for dinner at her house.
Nikki brought the new baby, 5 week old precious little Kaitlyn Grace. Susan; Katie; Aunt Jean; Teri & McKenzie; Judy Griggs; Angie, Lanny & Logan; Jory & Reina; Diane & my mom were there, as well as Uncle Bob, Gail; Skiffy & I.
It was a GREAT time & I really enjoyed seeing everyone!

Then Monday, the time came for my sister Diane to say good-bye to her long time faithful companion & protector, her beautiful 13 year old white German Shepherd, Nikoa. It's a sad loss for the entire family & my heart just aches for Diane. She will have to adjust to a whole new life without her faithful friend.

Skiffy & I got both our moms a digital photo frame for Mother's Day. I was up until 3 this morning filling my mom's with nearly 150 photos of our Christmas Florida vacation. I think she'll be really happy, as I know she's been waiting for me to print them out for her.
We're going out to eat tonite with Skiffy's folks & my mom & maybe Diane, so we'll give mom her gift when we take her back to Diane's after dinner.
We're having a get together at the cabin on Mother's Day, so we'll give his mom her gift then, but my mom's heading back to KC Friday & wont be here. She's going out to dinner in KC with Jim; Jolene & Paul; & Diane Saturday, then heading back home on Sunday.

5/3 O My Gawd, I'm SO exhausted!
We returned home this eve after spending 4 days up at the river. Not that I ever do anything real strenuous while I'm up there. I should come home nice & rested up, but that's just not the case. I guess it's becuz I wake up so early in the mornings while I'm there.

Skiffy's started working 12 hour shifts, 4 days on/4 days off. It has it's good & bad points.
Good is that we're able to spend more time up at the river.
Bad is that it's really messed up our schedules! I can never keep track of what day it is anymore!
Plus, he no longer gets paid over time - no more double time & a half for Sundays, no more time & a half for being called in, & if a holiday happens to fall during his 4 day period on he's only paiyed a regular day, no holiday pay! That does hurt!
I hope it'll only last thru the summer months.

He's got a lot done up at the cabin this year. He ripped up the carpet in the spare bedroom & is replacing the water damaged floor in there.
He also tore out the living room windows & part of the wall & put in a sliding glass door that opens onto the screened in porch. SO COOL! I really love it!
And he & a couple of the neighbor guys up there have been working on a used boat dock that they're going to, hopefully, get put into the river this coming week-end. It'll be GREAT! Then we'll no longer have to tow the boat 10 miles to put in up at Blair.

I saw 2 hummingbirds at the feeder Th, May 1st up at the river! That's VERY exciting! Sure made my week!

Jory, & Angie & the kids were up there Wed eve. Lanny wanted to show off his new Tai Kwondo (sp?) sparring gear.
And Brooklyn spent the day up there with us today. It was the first time she's ever even seen the mini bike, let alone drove on it, but she got on right off the bat & took off & didn't want to stop, LoL! She's a natural!

I've posted a short video of her driving the Green Goblin, as well as some other new photos on the

AND GOD SAID

I said, "God, I hurt."
And God said, "I know."

I said, "God, I cry a lot." And God said, "That is why I gave you tears."

I said "God, I am so depressed."
And God said, "That is why I gave you Sunshine."

I said, "God, life is so hard."
And God said, "That is why I gave you loved ones."

I said, "God, my loved one died."
And God said, "So did mine."

I said, "God, it is such a loss."
And God said, "I saw mine nailed to a cross."

I said, "God, but your loved one lives."
And God said, "So does yours."

I said, "God, where are they now?"
And God said, "Mine is on My right and yours will be in the Light."

I said, "God, it hurts."
And God said, "I know."

4/20 Spent the entire day doing loads & loads of laundry. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I found in those piles of dirty clothes - yuck! And I haven't even gottne to the bottom of it all yet!

Grandkids Lanny & Logan came over for a couple of hours while Angie went to groom Nikoa, my sister's German Shepherd. Pops took them with him when he walked to the grocery & they stopped for awhile at the park. Course, I didn't go as I was at home doing the

4/19 Things have become so bad around the home front with hubby's son here. I feel like he's just a constant lurking presence in the background of my life! But I've also come to pretty much accept the fact that this will go on for the rest of my life, or at least my hubbys life.

It's become obvious that he feels the tension too, as he's been keeping himself basically out of site, hiding out in "his" bedroom 24/7 except to use the bathroom or rummage around for something to eat or drink.
He looks pretty bad too ... unkempt.
I do have to wonder if he needs professional help.

I know we're not doing him any good by taking him in when he has no where else to go. By doing so, we're just allowing him to continue to live this kind of life style. But we just don't have the heart to turn the poor guy away.

4/9    UGH! I had to start ALL OVER on the lay out of this stoopid page!! When I logged in last nite, I realized that somewhere along the line, I'd somehow DELETED all the code I had spent hours & hours, over time, working on! I had it all set up in an HTML table & it's ALL GONE!

So I'm starting over ...

I'm still working on the photos I took at the end of March when we celebrated my **th birthday at a cabin at Mahoney State Park with hubby, kids & grands.

Not only did he give me an almost perfect week-end at a really cool cabin, Siffy also gave me ... a ...

MacBook Air!

What a great guy, huh?! But, beings I've never used a Mac before, I'm pretty lost, LoL! But, I'm working on it & have already learned lots. He also got me a copy of Mac for Dummies. Ah! What a great guy!
